Apparel Production and Design Student

My goal as a designer is to create apparel that embodies my artistic vision, seamlessly blending my distinctive style with intricate designs! Through my work, I strive to craft garments that inspire confidence and empower individuals to express themselves authentically. My journey in fashion design began at a young age, inspired by my stylish grandmother, who encouraged me to express myself through fashion. This early foundation was further strengthened by my high school fashion teacher, Mrs. Keeports, whose guidance deepened my knowledge of both fashion and sewing. During my time at Auburn University, my professors in the Apparel Design and Production Management program provided invaluable instruction, equipping me with essential skills ranging from advanced sewing techniques to creating detailed tech packs. My family has played a tremendous role in encouraging me to chase my dreams, celebrating my successes and uplifting me during challenges. Their unwavering support has driven me to push creative boundaries and produce my best work. Alongside my family, my professors and peers have also played a crucial role, challenging me to refine my skills and supporting me every step of the way. However, it’s my family’s confidence in me that has been the most powerful force, inspiring me to pursue my dreams with passion and purpose. Pop culture has also significantly influenced my designs, particularly through the ever-evolving landscape of social media. I have a deep appreciation for social media and its powerful role in shaping trends and inspiring creativity. Platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok provide endless sources of inspiration, allowing me to explore new styles, emerging trends, and innovative design ideas. This constant stream of visual inspiration fuels my creative process, influencing both my design aesthetic and the garments I create. By staying engaged with social media, I can translate what intrigues me into unique designs that feel current, expressive, and impactful. Ultimately, my goal as a designer is to create garments that captivate and empower — pieces that catch the eye while making people feel confident and joyful when wearing them. I want my designs to invite admiration for their intricate details and thoughtful craftsmanship. Each piece is thoughtfully constructed with detailed trim work, cohesive design elements, and hours of dedicated effort! I hope those who wear or see my garments appreciate the artistry behind them — from the initial vision to the careful process of bringing each design to life!

Design Philosophy

As an apparel design student, my philosophy centers on creating unique and thoughtful designs that celebrate individuality and creativity. I strive to bring my vision to life through meticulous garment construction and innovative sewing techniques, ensuring each piece is both original and meaningful. For me, design is not just about fashion—it’s a way to express my creativity and connect with others through the stories my creations tell. 3 Key Areas

Industrial, Home, and Hand Sewing

Digital Design

Styling

My passion for sewing runs deep, as it has been a significant part of my life for many years. Sewing is my creative outlet, a medium where I can pour my emotions into every design. I am skilled in industrial, home, and hand sewing, and each technique has its unique way of bringing my ideas to life. Beyond creating, I’ve found immense joy in teaching others the art of sewing. As a teaching assistant in a sewing lab this past semester, I not only sharpened my skills but also discovered the fulfillment of sharing this craft with others. Sewing is more than a skill for me - it is my way of connecting, creating, and inspiring.

During my time at Auburn, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in multiple digital design classes, where I developed a strong foundation in creating and visualizing designs. Through hands-on projects, I’ve honed my skills in Adobe Illustrator, crafting projects that reflect my understanding and creativity. Additionally, I’ve worked with advanced 3D programs to bring my concepts to life in a dynamic and interactive way. The techniques and tools I’ve learned in these classes are a part of my daily process, helping me turn innovative ideas into reality with precision and flair.

I have a natural eye for fashion and the ability to curate looks that are both bold and cohesive. My passion lies in creating outfits that center around standout pieces, turning them into statements that tell a story. Whether it's blending unexpected textures, playing with color, or reimagining classic styles with a modern twist, I thrive on pushing boundaries and inspiring others through my styling. My confidence comes from years of experimenting, refining my craft, and understanding how to bring out the best in any wardrobe. For me, fashion isn't just about clothing; it's about expressing individuality and celebrating creativity.
